InBody Integration

Overview

Cerbo integrates with InBody Body Composition Analyzers, allowing you to sync patient profiles and pull body composition results directly into their chart. This integration streamlines data entry and improves information sharing with patients.

* Note that all discrete InBody results (except for weight and height) are reported to Cerbo and stored in the patient’s chart in metric units. As a result, these values may differ from the InBody report if it is configured to display imperial units. If your practice requires data in imperial units, contact InBody support and request that they either (1) convert raw data to imperial before transmitting, or (2) include unit labels with each raw data point so Cerbo can convert them. This change must be made on InBody's end.

What the Integration Can Do

  • Add patients from Cerbo to InBody.
  • Take measurements using your integrated InBody device.
  • Quickly pull InBody results and reports into the patient's chart in Cerbo

Setting up your Cerbo-InBody Integration

Before beginning setup, you will need to submit an application to InBody for API access. Complete and submit the application at https://inbodyusa.com/api-application-af/ and wait for confirmation from InBody before proceeding with the steps below.

Once you have received confirmation from InBody, the Cerbo-InBody integration is set up under Admin > Manage > Integrations using your InBody user ID and an API key that you can obtain within your InBody web portal. On that page, you can create your API key, set up an IP whitelist, and set up a webhook. The information that you should use for the IP addresses and webhook setup is below.

  • IP Addresses: 13.52.65.142;3.106.153.226;3.138.249.4;35.183.248.73;44.239.89.243;52.207.88.183
  • Webhook name: Cerbo InBody Integration
  • Webhook URL: https://inbound-webhooks.md-hq.com/inbody/

Once that is set up and tested in your InBody web portal, you can set up your integration in Cerbo under Admin > Manage > Integrations using the API key that you generated in InBody and your InBody user login.

Mapping InBody Results to Custom Vitals

You can map specific discrete InBody measurements to custom vitals that you have already set up in Cerbo in order to make key InBody data points more visible.

This step is not required. All discrete InBody results are automatically saved (in metric units) to the Lab Values tracker in the patient’s chart. If you choose to map measurements to custom vitals, be sure those vitals are also configured to use metric units. Otherwise, the recorded values may be misleading or difficult to interpret.

Cerbo-InBody Linking: Mobile Number Rules

The Cerbo-InBody integration uses the mobile number as the InBody user ID. That mobile number is used to take a scan on the machine. And patient charts are linked to InBody where their mobile number in Cerbo matches the InBody user ID.

  • If multiple patients share a mobile number in Cerbo, results may link incorrectly.
  • To avoid errors, click the InBody button at the top of the Vitals block into the patient’s chart before scanning. This will check for missing or duplicate mobile numbers and prompt you to correct them.

If a Patient's Mobile Number Changes

  1. Update the mobile number in Cerbo.
  2. Update both the mobile number and the User ID in InBody to match the new number.

Taking an InBody Scan

In Cerbo, click the InBody button in the patient’s Vitals block.

  • If the patient is not yet in InBody, you can sync them from the window that appears.
  • Double check the patient information shown to be sure that the correct patient is linked. If not, you may need to correct the mobile number in Cerbo and/ or the mobile number and user ID InBody.
  • If they are already linked correctly, close the window and proceed.

On the InBody device, enter the patient’s mobile number as the User ID.

  • If the number matches an existing profile, their details will auto-populate on the device's screen.
  • If not, you’ll enter height, age, gender, and mobile number manually on the InBody device.

Complete the scan by following the device prompts. Results will save in InBody under that mobile number and can then be pulled into Cerbo.

Pulling Results into Cerbo

Click the InBody button in the patient’s Vitals block. A modal window opens and automatically downloads the results from the patient's most recent 3 InBody scans, including:

  • Weight to their Vitals block.
  • Height to their Vitals block if their last height reading doesn't match what was recorded in InBody.
  • The full InBody report document to the patient's Documents block.
  • Discrete InBody measurements (as structured data) to trackable lab results.

*** Note that all discrete InBody results (except for weight and height) are reported to Cerbo and stored in the patient’s chart in metric units. As a result, these values may differ from the InBody report if it is configured to display imperial units.

If additional historical results are desired, you can click on the circular arrow within the InBody window to pick up additional past results 1 at a time.

If results don’t appear:

  • Verify the correct mobile number was entered during the scan, and that the InBody user ID matches the patient's mobile number in Cerbo.
  • Update the number (and InBody ID), if needed, then retry syncing.

Imported InBody data behaves like structured lab results - see Imported Lab Results for details. You can add a tag to all of the InBody results fields, or key InBody results fields, to quickly visualize just those values at a glance.

Adding Patients to InBody

Recommended: Add patients to InBody before scanning. Click the InBody button in the Vitals block to:

  • View the linked InBody profile.
  • Add the patient if no profile exists.

Requirements:

  • Patient must have a height recorded in Cerbo.
  • Mobile number must be unique - InBody cannot accept duplicate numbers.

Deleting InBody Results from the Cerbo Chart

To delete InBody results from the Cerbo chart, right click on the corresponding InBody result document in the patient's documents block, and select the delete option. Deleting the result document removes that document, as well as the corresponding InBody structured data.

Tips

  • Always confirm the patient’s mobile number in Cerbo before scanning.
  • Use the InBody button at the top of the Vitals block in the patient's chart to sync profiles, check that the correct patient is linked, and download results.
